Midterm Exam 1

This is a timed exam. You will have 90 minutes (more if you have accommodations with ASC) to complete the questions once you begin the exam; the exam cannot be paused. The exam is due by 11:00 pm, Friday, March 19th. If you start the exam late, Canvas will automatically submit your responses at 11:00 pm and grade the problems you have completed. This exam requires use of WebMO for a few molecular modeling calculations. Before starting the exam, please verify you can log in to your WebMO account; please do not use another person's WebMO account. Email me ASAP if you encounter any problems with WebMO or the exam; please include screenshots where relevant to document any problems.

ACADEMIC INTEGRITY POLICY: Students must work INDIVIDUALLY on this exam. To complete this exam, you can use your notes, lab manual, the Canvas course website resources, SDS files and internet searches to obtain the physical properties of substances. You may not work with other students, or consult other people to answer these exam questions; you may not use Chegg.com or similar services to receive help in answering exam questions. Students can neither give nor receive assistance to complete this exam, and are required to report to the instructor any dishonest work they witness.

It is the responsibility of each student to understand and follow the Cabrillo College Academic Integrity Policy. The first violation of this policy (including cheating, plagiarizing, or helping another student cheat or plagiarize) will result in the following actions:

1. Students will receive a zero for the assignment in question,
2. Students who violate the academic integrity policy will not be eligible for the exam improvement policy,
3. The student's final course grade will be dropped one full letter grade (an A would be dropped to a B, a B would be dropped to a C, etc.),
4. A report documenting the evidence will be filed with the College.

A second violation of the academic integrity policy will result in an F for the course.
