Chancellor's Office Resources:

The California Community College Chancellor's Office provides free access to a few useful tools/chrome extensions and they are available to you at NO cost! Below are the ones ASC recommends and believe may be useful to you.

ReadSpeaker:

ReadSpeaker is a free text-to-speech (TTS) tool that converts digital text into audible speech, helping users with reading difficulties like dyslexia or visual impairments. It allows users to highlight text and click a "listen" button to hear it read aloud. Supporting multiple languages and voice options, ReadSpeaker can be integrated into platforms like Canvas for easy access within coursework.

Read&Write:

Read&Write is a free literacy software that helps with reading, writing, and studying. It includes features like text-to-speech, voice dictation, word prediction, and definitions. The tool works with documents, web pages, and PDFs, and allows customization of the screen-mask filter. It supports tasks like reading, research, and proofreading, and is especially helpful for students with learning needs, such as ADHD, dyslexia, or English language learners.

Equatio:

Equatio is a free digital tool that helps users create accessible math expressions by typing, handwriting, or dictating. It supports speech, handwriting, and keyboard input, making math accessible for students with learning differences. Equatio integrates with platforms like Google Docs, Slides, and Microsoft Word, allowing users to easily insert complex math expressions like fractions and exponents into documents.
