Time Management: Plan a Schedule for Success

Plan a Schedule for Success

  • An important step to success in college is preparing for success. There are steps you can take before, during, and after the semester.
  • Plan out your weekly schedule to have enough time for everything.
  • When you plan ahead and create time in your schedule, you will reduce anxiety.

Be Realistic About Your Time Commitment to College

  • 2-3 hours per week of study time for each unit (up to double this for harder subjects or if you have learning challenges)
    • 12 units is a full-time college student.
      • 12 units means 12 hours in class PLUS 24-36 hours outside of class (or more)
      • This means 36-48 (or more) hours per week devoted to your classes
      • Full-time college is a full-time job
