Solidarity Day Oct. 6, 1985
An estimated 2,000 joined a Solidarity Day held in the first month of the strike. Students, labor and community activists, and other unions such as the UFW joined strikers in a rally starting at Callaghan Park. It was described in the Register Pajaronian as "peaceful if vociferous," and while police came out in force from all over the region there were no arrests. The rally was organized by TDU and criticized by some for not allowing more strikers or outside groups to speak.
Below is a flyer in English and Spanish urging people to attend Solidarity Day and a police report on the rally. Click on the PDF to read the full 3-page report.
