Newsletter
In the interview below Shiree Teng, who organized the Northern California Strike Support Committee, names some of the women she viewed as "core" members of the Strikers' Committee. She describes the support they provided in the day-to-day work of keeping the strike going.
Below also is the first newsletter of the newly elected Strikers Committee. The newsletter informs the strikers of growing support from their Local 912 and Joint Council 7 of the Teamsters, describes the need for social services for strikers, and calls on Teamsters to join the fight to "bust" unions across agricultural industries.
Questions
- According to the newsletter how might support from the Joint Council 7 of the Teamsters aid the strikers?
- Why might the strikers need to enlist more support from the community?
