Photograph: Photograph of Strikers

A photograph, most likely published in the Register Pajaronian, that shows a number of strikers with signs.  Some of the visible text on the signs read “...Listen to Women for a Change” and “Watsonville Strikers NOT Permitted to Hold Rally” and “…No Se Vende Luchamos por Sueldo Justo Viva Huelga Compañeros.”

Questions

  • What does the photograph tell you about the strikers?  What can you infer from this image?
  • Is there anything about the way the photograph has been cropped or the perspective it was taken from that contributes to a particular narrative about the strike?
