Parenting Skills Are a Strength

At least 20% Links to an external site. of college students are also parents who are raising children. The challenges and strengths of students who are parents were highlighted during the pandemic more than ever, as our classrooms were moved into our homes.

Even as childcare, K-12 schools, and college campuses are now re-opened, life may still be full of unexpected schedule changes, emergencies, and last-minute responsibilities that cannot be ignored.

I want to take a moment to acknowledge this reality, and assure you that family must always come first. Therefore, this course is designed to be very flexible, and I am here to support your success. 

I also want to note that your children and your parenting skills are an asset that you bring to this class and to the college. Yes, it is a juggling act, but our families are often our greatest motivation in pursuing our education.
