Our Learning Environment

This course is designed to address the needs of all students through an inclusive, welcoming, and respectful learning environment.

  • I recognize the benefits gained from the personal experiences, values, and views of a diverse group of individuals. This diversity includes but is not limited to race, ethnicity, sex, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability status, age, cultural background, veteran status, socioeconomic status, citizenship, national origin, religious beliefs, or political preference.
  • I also believe that the diversity of student experiences and perspectives is critical to the deepening of knowledge. Our learning materials and class environment should support this.
  • Any suggestions that you have about other ways to include the value of diversity in this course are welcome.

Guidelines

To promote an atmosphere of mutual respect, I encourage you to:

  • Share your own unique experiences, values, and beliefs
  • Be open to the views of others
  • Value differences and commonalities
  • Appreciate the opportunity we have to learn from each other
