8.4 Finding Materials at the Library

Physical / On Campus Materials in OneSearch

When you use OneSearch, you will also find physical materials that are located at the Library on campus, or at other campus locations like the Watsonville ILC, Math Learning Center, STEM Center, Computer Technology Center, and ECE Peace Library.

It's important to know how to find those physical materials that appear in your search results!

Location, Call Number, & Availability

Each item in our Library Catalog is assigned a location in the building and a call number. Each book record indicates the book’s availability. When the book is available it reads, "Available at Cabrillo Library." "Not Available" means the book is on loan to another patron.

Main Stacks

Books on the long, tall shelves in the center of the Library. These can be checked out for the entire semester.

Reserves

The Library has at least one copy of most required textbooks, that can be checked out for free, usually for 2 days at a time. They are kept on shelves behind the Checkout Desk. We also have other materials for free checkout here, such as graphing calculators.

Reserves can also be checked out at the Watsonville ILC!
