Communication is the Key
Membership on any participatory governance committee assumes regular communication with constituent bodies either through a written or oral report.
Consistent and effective communication among constituent representatives and their respective constituent bodies is critical for successful decision-making.

You should expect to spend some time reading the agenda (and supporting documents) posted in BoardDocs prior to the scheduled meeting.
By reviewing these documents before the meeting, you can prepare pointed questions or concerns related to the information being presented.
Following the meeting, prepare your report
A well-constructed message should be distilled down to key "need to know" items and listed in order of importance with an invitation to explore info items further with links (to BoardDocs, presentations, websites, etc.) Anyone wishing more information can either review minutes or a zoom recording of the actual meeting.
Best practice recommendations for reporting:
- use the fillable PDF document template for your report and save locally for your report.
- include first and last names in the report out
- if sending an email report out, include link as text (not the long url) as appropriate
- if you reference a person to contact, include their email address

- Use the share tool to link to the specific item in Board Docs or the Web External (shared) Google Drive.
