Want to learn about joining a committee? Seasoned representatives share their experiences,  tips on learning the ropes, and what they get out of serving on a committee.

  • Nina Kotylan, Instructor, Communications:  Serving on a committee means having a voice and using that voice to enact change in a collaborative manner. It means solving problems & making decisions together to better the lives of our students, faculty, and staff.  Being a committee member brings with it a sense of community, a sense of togetherness.  See Nina's complete response
  • Tatiana Bachuretz, Confidential Assistant to the Vice President, Administrative Services:  Serving on committees connects me with colleagues, offers me insight into what is happening outside of my day-to-day work at Cabrillo, and gives me a chance to contribute to solutions.  I really look forward to getting meeting report-outs, a simple summary and interpretation of what happened in a meeting, and even drafting my own.  It takes a little time to write up, but it helps me digest what happened in today's meeting and what's up next.
