Clearing the Path for Academic Success

Once your cumulative Cabrillo GPA reaches 2.0 or higher and your cumulative number of units dropped is less than 50%, then the probation status is removed, and you will return to good standing.

Now that you know why you are on academic or progress probation, it is time to start planning how to address any of the issues that brought you here.  The first steps are to review the options of repeating any courses with D's or F's or, if eligible, apply for Academic Renewal.  Both these options are explained in more detail in the next few pages.  If you are on progress probation, it will be important to pass all your courses with a grade of A, B, C or a P.

The other important steps for clearing the path toward your future academic success are taking a look at your study habits, time management, educational goals, connection with campus resources, and personal issues.  Each person's situation is unique, but learning more about yourself and your strengths and abilities will help you make choices to improve your academic standing.
