Managing Your Time

School is work and success requires the same commitment as a job

  • Reaching your goals requires you to be realistic about the amount of time each of your commitments takes.
  • One of the hardest adjustments in college is learning how to manage your time.
  • When you are over-committed, it’s hard to balance your priorities.

1 unit equals 3 hours of work

A full-time load of  12 units = a 36-hour a week commitment to school

Take some time to list some reasons that you struggled with  completing your courses.  These could include financial problems, relationship issues, lack of planning, health problems, homelessness, unrealistic course load, undiagnosed learning disability, unclear academic goals, etc.
