Use SuperSearch to find a source for Essay 2. It should help you discuss a theme or issue related to In the Country We Love.  

Write an SQE paragraph on the source you found in the SuperSearch using follow the pattern:

  1. In the first sentence, write the paragraph’s topic sentence and include the author’s full name, the title in quotation marks, and a main idea.
  2. The “summary” section of the paragraph follows the topic sentence. Make sure that each of these sentences includes the author’s last name. Write all summary sentences 100% in your own words. Use sentence tags for the author's last name, such as Garcia explains, Garcia discusses, Garcia makes the point, Garcia goes on to show, Garcia also discusses, etc.
  3. Place the quote in the middle. Make sure that the quote has an introduction, quotation marks, and the page number in parenthesis. Example: Garcia writes, "Quote" (35).
  4. The “explain” section of the paragraph shows why these ideas are important and how they relate to your rhetorical analysis of the memoir.
