APA Style Citation Guide


Online Articles (Journals, Magazines, Newspapers)

General format:

Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Date). Title of article. Title of Publication, volume(issue), page range. DOI or homepage URL of publication

Note on Journals: Include DOI (digital object identifier) if available. Look on the first page or on the library database record, or search CrossRef.org Links to an external site.. If no DOI is available, include the homepage URL of the publication.

Journal article with DOI:

Allan, J. (2014). Inclusive education and the arts. Cambridge Journal of Education, 44(4), 511-523. doi:10.1080/0305764X.2014.921282

Printed articles use the same citation format as online articles, but do not include the URL.
