Primary Research Articles: Features

Key features that differentiate primary research articles from review articles are the methods and the results sections.

Methods

This section describes the methods used to conduct the study.  It includes enough detail to allow other researchers to reproduce the study.

A sample methods section showing who participated in the study and how they were recruited and studied.

Results

This section describes the results of the study, and often includes statistics, graphs, and tables to represent the results.
