Background Information
To search effectively, you need to do a little "pre-research" to learn about your topic and identify relevant keywords. Create a Google Doc for your group to take notes.
Discuss your research topic with your group:
- Why are you interested in this topic?
- What do you already know about this topic?
- What do you need to find out? What are your research questions?
Keywords
Use these background information sources to identify relevant terms or keywords for your research topic:
- Encyclopedia of Medicine Links to an external site. (library eBook) Look up diseases, symptoms, treatments, etc.
- Medline Plus Links to an external site. (National Library of Medicine) Look up any health topic. Sources are available in English and Spanish.
Write down at least three research questions and five keywords related to your topic.
