Flyer: Se Buscan Esquiroles

This flyer was most likely printed to expose members of the community that were hired to work for the canneries to replace the striking workers - referred to as scabs - and describes them in harsh terms.  It invokes ties to community and accuses strikebreakers of betraying not just striking workers but also their family, race, and god.

Questions

  • Who might the strikers hand these flyers out to?
  • Why does the flyer use religious imagery?  Why are scabs compared to Judas?
