What is OneSearch?

OneSearch is a tool that allows you to search many of the Library’s databases, books from the library catalog, and selected free web sources, at the same time.

Why use OneSearch?

OneSearch works well when you want to access a wide variety of sources at once, and is a good tool when starting your research. Be prepared to use the Refine your results feature on the left in order to focus the large results list.

When to Use OneSearch

Using OneSearch is convenient, but like Google, rather overwhelming at first. You will need to sort through, limit, and edit your results to find relevant sources for your research topic and assignment.

SuperSearch has icons to indicate the different source types. Look for these to the left of your search results.

Here are the types of sources you could retrieve in a single search:

  • Print Book
  • eBook
  • Scholarly (Peer-Reviewed) Article
  • Newspaper Article
  • Magazine Article
  • Conference Materials
  • Trade Publication
  • Book Review
  • Primary Source Document
  • Report
  • Video
  • Audio

For this assignment you are looking for books, eBooks, and scholarly articles.
