Background Information
To search effectively, you need to know a little about your topic. Background information can help you identify what's at stake, who is impacted, and what keywords are relevant for your topic.
Try these sources to get basic background information on your topic. Note: You will need your Canvas login/password to access library collections.
- Gale eBooks Links to an external site. A collection of encyclopedias on specific subjects, such as:
- Medline Plus Links to an external site. Health information from the National Institute of Health.
- Occupational Outlook Links to an external site. Career information including standard training, pay, and job growth.
- Wikipedia Links to an external site. A good place to start on most topics. Check their references!
